The Arizona Senate and House of Representatives are scheduled to vote on the state budget early next week. Contact your legislators and the Governor's office ASAP to ensure that critical funding for the Double Up Food Bucks Program is included in the state budget!
Arizona has invested in the Double Up Food Bucks Program for nearly a decade, allowing the program to expand to nearly every corner of the state, providing healthy food in hard-to-reach communities. However, without additional funding for this program, sites will be forced to close and matching federal funds will go to another state. We know that Double Up Arizona is a WIN-WIN-WIN:

Participants in the “Community” markets are required to be LOCAL direct producers, family members or agents of the producers. Generally the producers are small local growers or farmers. The typical farming method is pesticide free or organic. Farm size ranges from large backyard to a few hundred acres. Other participants are direct producers of food items, and in some markets, arts & crafts are available for purchase. We are always open to new agricultural vendors, food producers, and directly produced artisans.
